HALLOWEEN LOOK-O-LOOK!!

Russell Oden, our web hair and makeup stylist, created these iconic scream queen
looks for Halloween. Follow his step-by-step guide for a look that’s frighteningly
perfect.

– Wash and moisturize your face
– Use a light concealer to cover any imperfections
– Apply a light foundation with a concealer brush or sponge; the lighter the
better. You want your face to be pale.
– Set your face with white powder. A large makeup puff works great for this
application; I use the NYX Powder Puff.
– Contour cheekbones with dark powder
– Apply grey and purple eye shadow to upper and lower lids. Blend well
and continuing the color under your eyes to mimic dark circles.
– Darken eyebrows while enhancing an arch
– Go with soft, natural lips
– Part hair in the middle and braid
– Practice your best Wednesday stare

Tip:
Anna Sui Blotting Papers are a purse must-have. They help to keep your makeup
set and your face shine free.

– Wash and moisturize your face
– Conceal any imperfections
– Skip foundation and apply a bit of powder
– Keep eyes very natural by softly applying a golden eye shadow and then
a light coat of mascara to the top and bottom lashes
– Apply a bit of peach blush on the cheeks
– Pour and splatter blood
– Get your tiara in place

Tip:
Don’t want to buy fake blood? It’s simple to make!
1 c corn syrup
1 Tbsp water
2 Tbsp red food coloring
1 drop of green food coloring (to deepen the color)

Tip:
Sadly, in the end, you will have to wash your face. My new favorite product is
NYX Eye & Lip Makeup Remover. It’s made from rice, soy and fruit extracts.
It is extra gentle, yet still gets rid of all that hard-to-remove makeup from eyes
and lips. It’s one of the best removers I have ever used!

Tip:
When you decide who you want to be, print out large pictures of your inspiration
and put them in front of your makeup mirror. Identify what makes them special
and interpret that onto your face. Most of all, have fun! It’s only makeup.

HAIR
– Fake bangs if you don’t have any! Create a triangle section hair from both sides
of the forehead meeting in the middle. Twist like you are creating a bun, leaving
out a few inches to drape over your forehead.
– Loosely pull hair from both sides and partially wrap around the bun, secure
with an elastic band. Tease and spray the remaining hair to create tons of
volume and texture. Have fun!

FACE
– Use a light concealer to cover any imperfections
– Apply a light foundation with a concealer brush or sponge; the lighter the
better. You want your face to be pale.
– Set your face with white powder. A large makeup puff works great for this
application; I use the NYX Powder Puff.
– Contour under your eyes and cheekbones with a darker powder
– Heavily line eyes with a black pencil
– Apply dark grey or black eye shadow to the entire eye
– Lightly apply a red shadow, blending under your eyes and up to your eyebrows
– Adding a bit of highlight in the corners of the eyes adds a nice pop
– Mascara! Mascara! Mascara!
– Line lips with a black eyeliner; go a bit heavier on the top lip
– Apply a true red lip color
– Use your fingers to piece out your bangs with gel or hairspray

Tip:
When you decide who you want to be, print out large pictures of your inspiration
and put them in front of your makeup mirror. Indentify what makes them special
and interpret that onto your face. Most of all, have fun! It’s only makeup.

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

– Shave and don’t worry about nicks- they it will come in handy!
– Wash your hair and gel it back for a wet look
– Dress in your best suit
– Splatter fake blood on your face

Tip:
Guys, Face Boutique Sweep Clean Cloths are a great addition to your messenger
bag. These gentle wipes are a great way to remove grime (or blood) day or night.
